Who we are

GI OS is developed by The Gastrologer Group. We are not affiliated with any pharmaceutical company, device manufacturer, or health system.

Web tool (thegastrologer.com/try/)

When you use our free web-based Visit Prep tool at thegastrologer.com/try/, the following applies:

Your symptom responses are never uploaded. All answers you provide during the session are stored temporarily in your browser’s session storage and are automatically deleted when you close the page. No symptom data, clinical responses, or assessment results are transmitted to any server.

Anonymous page-view analytics. We collect anonymous, non-identifying page-view events (which page was visited, which symptom was tapped, and a timestamp) to understand how the tool is used. These events contain no IP address, no device identifier, no cookies, and no personal information. Analytics are processed by a Cloudflare Worker and stored in Cloudflare KV with a 180-day automatic expiration.

Email capture (optional). If you choose to enter your email address on a “Coming Soon” page, your email is stored in our analytics system solely to notify you when the app launches. We will not share your email with any third party, use it for marketing beyond the launch notification, or sell it.

No cookies. No tracking pixels. No third-party analytics. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party tracking service on the web tool.

Fonts are self-hosted. No requests are made to Google Fonts or any external font service.

Education pages (thegastrologer.com/learn/)

The patient-education chapters at thegastrologer.com/learn/ are static pages: no login, no account, no cookies, and no tracking. The symptom-score calculators on some pages (for example IBS-SSS and GERD-Q) run entirely in your browser — nothing you enter is saved, uploaded, or kept after you close the page.

As with the rest of the site, an anonymous, cookieless page-view count may be recorded by our hosting provider (Cloudflare); it contains no personal information and no symptom data.

iOS apps

The GI OS iOS apps (IBS, IBD, GERD, Celiac, FD, EoE, N&V, MC) store all data locally on your device using your browser’s built-in storage (IndexedDB via the app’s web view). No clinical data is transmitted to any server.

Subscription management is handled entirely by Apple’s App Store. We do not use any third-party subscription or analytics service inside the iOS apps, and no symptom data, clinical responses, or health information is ever transmitted off your device.

What we do not do

We do not sell data. We do not share data with pharmaceutical companies. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not train AI models on your data. We do not require an account to use the web tool.

Children

GI OS is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age.
